I’m sure many of you have set some goals or intentions for the year ahead. And, health can be a key part of many people’s intentions this time of year. When we talk about health, an easy metric to follow is one’s weight. Though, to me, this is not a very good indicator of overall health, it can be one of many tools in assessing if we are eating and treating our bodies right. So, if weight loss is part of your health goal for the year, let’s talk about 4 ways colonics can contribute to your health and therefore help with weight loss.
According to Gaiam.com, “Colon cleansing can help improve your body’s overall health and wellness” in the following ways:
“1. MAKES THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM MORE EFFECTIVE As the colon is cleansed, it pushes waste through your system, clearing the way for good nutrient absorption. A clean colon from a colonics allows waste to pass easily.
2. MAINTAINS REGULARITY AND PREVENTS CONSTIPATION Constipation — especially when it is chronic — causes a sluggish digestive response, which in turn leaves waste in the system longer. This increases the likelihood of certain conditions and irritations, such as hemorrhoids and varicose veins.
3. INCREASES ENERGY Releasing the toxins from your body is rejuvenating because it refocuses the energy usually used for forcing waste through your intestines to other parts of your body. People who have undergone colon detoxification say they have better blood circulation, more restful sleep, and a boost in energy.
4. INCREASES THE BODY’S ABSORPTION OF VITAMINS AND NUTRIENTS A colon that’s been cleansed allows only water, vitamins and nutrients to be absorbed into the bloodstream, creating an unobstructed path for essential nutrients to filter into your body.”
It is my belief that when you put these four above benefits together, your body and mindset are best set up for a weight loss journey. Beyond that, a series of colonics can help in two additional ways. Colonics can help benefit your mindset by moving slow-moving foods (less fibrous foods) and the intestinal mucous associated with them, out of your intestinal tract. The colon can hold up to 8 meals worth of food, so moving some of this matter out can be a real benefit to your mindset and the way your body feels as you are working hard to lose weight. Second, planning a series of colonics with an experienced colon hydrotherapist can be a great way to do a check in every couple weeks to check on progress and help with accountability for your goals or intentions.
In my over 30 years of helping clients with their health, I have truly enjoyed continually seeing clients, cheering them on during both their successes and challenges. If you would like to read about more benefits of colonics, this is a great overview.
Cheers to a healthful 2021!
